Red Sea Fund Unveils 2025 Grants to Boost Global Film Projects

Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Fund now invites creators to apply for its 2025 Production Grants’ second cycle. Aspiring filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Africa, and Asia can secure funding to bring their stories to global audiences.

Eligible Projects and Regions

The Red Sea Film Foundation provides financial grants that enable promising cinematic voices to complete their projects and share their narratives with the world. The second cycle of the fund supports projects ready to move into production. It offers grants for feature-length films (60 minutes or more), whether fiction or animation, from directors in Saudi Arabia, the Arab region, Africa, and Asia. The Fund also supports TV series (25–59 minutes per episode) from the same eligible regions and short films (under 60 minutes), including fiction, documentary, or animation, exclusively from Saudi directors.

Filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Africa, and Asia can apply through the website before the 21 April deadline. Since its establishment in 2021, the Red Sea Fund has supported over 280 projects, with past grantees earned acclaim at Cannes, Sundance, and the Oscars, boosting regional cinema’s international profile.

Strategic Vision for Cultural Growth

Mohammed Al Turki, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, stated, “We’re committed to nurturing talent that bridges cultures through compelling storytelling.” The fund aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, fostering creative industries and economic diversification.

Applicants must submit project details, budgets, and sample reels. The Fund encourages early submissions. Selected projects gain not only funding but also mentorship and festival networking opportunities.

Don’t miss the 21 April cutoff. This cycle promises to further solidify Saudi Arabia’s role as a hub for cinematic innovation and cross-cultural collaboration.
