Red Sea Film Festival Transforms Historic Jeddah into Artists Hub

The Red Sea Film Festival 2023 transformed historic Jeddah into a hub for artists and stars worldwide. Global celebrities like Will Smith and Sofia Vergara explored Jeddah’s Al Balad area.

Star-Studded Attendance

The third edition of the festival saw a large turnout of stars. Notably, Johnny Depp expressed his delight for taking part in the festival. Other celebrities included Will Smith and Indian cinema icon Ranveer Singh, who received the Yusr Honorary Award.

On the red carpet, Egyptian star and jury member Amina Khalil shared her excitement for this edition. Saudi and Arab celebrity Yaqoub Al Farhan, Ibrahim Al Hajjaj, Sumaya Rida, and Turkish actress Hande Erçel graced the event.

Australian director Baz Luhrmann attended, alongside Jumana Al Rashid, Chair of the Red Sea Film Foundation, and CEO Mohammed Al Turki.

The Festival opened its curtains on November 30 and will continue till December 9.

Film AlUla will sponsor two awards at the festival, namely: Film AlUla Audience Award and Film AlUla Best Saudi Film Award.

Headed by the renowned writer, director, and producer Baz Luhrmann, the jury for 2023 edition includes a variety of international artists.

The third edition kicked off  with the world premiere of Dubai-based Iraqi director Yasir Al-Yasiri’s fantasy “HWJN.
