Ithra
The exhibition is organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an initiative by Aramco, in collaboration with the Madinah Region Development Authority and Milaf Global Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund. It is hosted at its dedicated venue adjacent to Quba Mosque, with the attendance of a number of ministers and senior officials.
During a tour of the exhibition, Prince Salman bin Sultan was briefed on its components, which present an interactive educational experience inspired by the events of the Prophet’s Hijrah. The exhibition adopts a contemporary approach grounded in academic research, highlighting the human and civilizational dimensions of this pivotal moment in Islamic history.
Through 14 interactive stations, the exhibition traces the journey of the Hijrah, meticulously developed by local and international experts and researchers. It also delivers documented content through a contemporary narrative format that combines historical scholarship with interactive engagement. The exhibition sheds light on the human and civilizational values that emerged from the Hijrah, and the lessons it offers in planning, perseverance, and community-building, within a journey that spanned nearly 400 kilometers over eight days, profoundly shaping the social, political, and economic landscape of the Arabian Peninsula.

During the tour, the Acting Director of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), Musab AlSaaran, provided an overview of the exhibition, which represents one of the key initiatives under the broader “Hijrah” project. Developed with the participation of more than 70 artists from over 20 countries, the exhibition features 53 artworks. The project also includes a documentary film that premiered at the Islamic Arts Biennale in 2023, the bilingual publication “Hijrah: In the Footsteps of the Prophet ” in Arabic and English, and an immersive virtual reality experience. Together, these elements form part of a comprehensive vision aimed at presenting the story of the Hijrah across multiple knowledge platforms.
Milaf Global Company
For his part, Eng. Bander Al-Qahtani, Chief Executive Officer of Milaf Global Company, stated that the collaboration between Milaf Global and Ithra reflects a national model in which expertise is integrated to deliver a project befitting the status of Madinah and the significance of the Hijrah in Islamic and human consciousness.
Organizing the exhibition in Madinah offers visitors a deeply historical experience, as the city represents the destination of the Hijrah and the starting point of a major civilizational transformation in Islamic history.
Finally, the exhibition forms part of broader efforts to enhance cultural and knowledge-based content and to reinforce Madinah’s standing as a cultural destination of global significance.
