OIC to discuss Women, Children and Islam phobia Issues at the “Human Rights “Table
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission will hold its 18th regular session from November 21 to November 25, 2021, at the General Secretariat in Jeddah, in the presence of representatives from member and observer states, as well as experts from various relevant international and regional organizations.
The concerns of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights in OIC member nations, as well as human rights abuses in Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir, are on the agenda for this session.
The commission will also have regular meetings of its four working groups on Palestine, women’s and children’s rights, Islam phobia and Muslim minorities, and the right to development, where decisions on the commission’s future work plan will be made.
However, due to the detrimental effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on attempts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the OIC Member States, the Sustainable Development Goals represent a paradigm change for achieving sustainable development with human rights-based methods.
