Ministry of Hajj Conveys Messages to Reduce Congestion in Grand Mosque

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has conveyed four key messages to pilgrims to reduce congestion in the Grand Mosque.

Through its account on the “X” platform, the ministry has clarified that reducing congestion around the Grand Mosque is a responsibility that all share. It is a task all perform together to achieve ease and ensure peace of mind. It pointed out that pilgrims should avoid peak times and heavy congestion. In addition, it stressed that pilgrims should use public transportation. They should pray in the mosques of Mecca when crowded and avoid coming in their cars.

Last Wednesday, the ministry advised the pilgrims to wear face masks. It encouraged them to exhibit altruism by giving precedence to women, the sick, and the elderly when using buses.

Member of the National Committee for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Activities Saeed Bahashwan disclosed that there is a rise in the number of Umrah pilgrims arriving from different countries. This increase occurs throughout the months of Rajab, Sha’ban, and Ramadan.

In an interview with Alarabiya.net, he stated that the 270 firms and institutions that provide Umrah services give the pilgrims the greatest care from the time of their arrival till their departure. These firms function in accordance with the government’s guidelines to furnish the pilgrims with optimal services.

Additionally, the government launched extensive initiatives to ensure pilgrims have a comfortable, peaceful, and secure environment for their rites. According to Al Arabiya, Hajj and Umrah Charitable Gift Association also introduced  a new kind of portable air conditioner. It seeks to benefit the pilgrims by reducing the summertime heat. Notably, the portable air conditioner (AC) is one for the well-known products of association for pilgrims. The AC is part of the association’s innovative offerings. The goal of these services is to facilitate pilgrims’ movement in Mecca, the Prophet’s Mosque, the Sacred Mosque, and other sacred locations.
