Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Advises Pilgrims to Wear Masks

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah advised on Wednesday the pilgrims to wear a face mask.

The Ministry added on X that the pilgrims must wear a face mask while performing Umrah, to protect themselves and others from viral diseases and respiratory infections.

It also advised the pilgrims to avoid crowding, be altruistic, and give priority to women, the sick, and the elderly while using buses.

Saeed Bahashwan, a member of the National Committee for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit Activities, revealed that during the months of Rajab, Sha’ban and Ramadan, there is increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims coming from various countries around the world as peak of Umrah season begins.

He pointed out that these months are considered the peak period of the current Umrah season, according to Al Arabiya.

Speaking to Alarabiya.net, he said that the 270 companies and institutions providing Umrah services offer the best services to the pilgrims from their arrival until their departure.

The companies operate in light of the directives of the government  to provide the best services to the pilgrims.

The government implemented huge projects to allow the pilgrims to perform their rituals with comfort, tranquility, and safety.

He also indicated that the hotels in the two holy cities will see an increase in occupancy. The increase is due to the rise in numbers as well as a significant revival and surge in commercial activities. These activities include transportation, restaurants, shopping, and the markets for pilgrims’ gifts.

Pilgrims from Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Pakistan, Libya, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Malaysia, and India, have  flocked to Mecca and Medina to perform the rituals of Umrah and spend time in the precincts of the Two Holy Mosques.

The Hajj and Umrah Charitable Gift Association released a new type of a portable air conditioner. It aims to serve the pilgrims by alleviating summer heat, reported Al Arabiya.

The portable air conditioner is one of the association for pilgrims’ most prominent innovative products in 2024.

It is part of the association’s creative programs and services. These services aim to make it easier for pilgrims to move during their pilgrimage, whether in Mecca, the Holy Mosque, the holy sites, or the Prophet’s Mosque.
