Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Envoy Adel Al-Jubeir met on Thursday with United Nations Undersecretary-General and Executive Secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), Yasmine Fouad, during his visit to the convention’s secretariat in Bonn, Germany.

Al-Jubeir also took part in a panel discussion addressing land degradation and drought, where he highlighted their political implications for security, stability, migration, and humanitarian pressures. He emphasized the need to strengthen international cooperation at all levels to restore degraded land and mitigate the escalating impacts of drought.
