Medina Launches Hackathon Community Initiative

The General Director for Education in Medina, Nasser bin Abdullah al-Abdulkarim, inaugurated the “National Program to Enhance Community Initiatives” hackathon. The event, set to span until the 24th of Shawwal, saw a diverse gathering. Attendees included key government officials, educational leaders, and enthusiastic students ready to drive social change.

Wide Participation, Expert Training

Dr. Fahd bin Hamad Al Moghlooth, the esteemed General Secretary of the Princess Seetah bint Abdulaziz Award for Excellence in Social Work, graced the event. His presence underscored the hackathon’s significance.

Additionally,  selected group of sixty students from middle and high schools were chosen to participate.The training also covered essential aspects such as the fundamentals of volunteer work, strategic priority setting and strategic marketing techniques.

Strategic Program Goals

The program specifically targets the youthful demographic within general education, aged 12-20. Its structure is methodically divided into two pivotal phases. Moreover, the participants undergo intensive training via workshops spread over three days. The journey culminates in a rigorous final competition. This competition is not just any event; it’s a prestigious national-level showdown.

Ambitious Hackathon Objectives

This hackathon is a volunteer program will enhance the quality and impact of community initiatives. It aims to not only activate these initiatives but to ensure they leave a lasting, sustainable mark. The program is keen on nurturing a sense of social responsibility and instilling noble values among the youth. It envisions transforming them into proactive initiators, inspirational leaders, and pioneering figures in the realm of social work.
