Saudi Industrial Development Fund launches the Industry Hackathon
The Saudi Industrial Development Fund launched the “Industry Hackathon”, the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, with prizes of up to 250,000 riyals for the first five places.
It is launched in partnership with the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program and sponsored by Ma’aden, SABIC, and Riyad Bank.
The Industrial Fund intends to provide a platform that integrates the ideas and creativity of young people with the demands of national manufacturers through the formation of the “Industry Hackathon,” which goes by the slogan “Creative Solutions, to Industrial Challenges.”
The Industrial Fund explained that registration will continue until June 11, followed by the announcement of the teams nominated for the camp, which will be held on the 16th of the same month.
While the training camp will be placed on June 22-24, the Hackathon will be concluded on June 25th with a celebration honoring the winning teams.
Participants’ Journey
The “Industry Hackathon” contains multiple stages, beginning with selecting a participating team and registering it on the hackathon website, followed by selecting the challenge for which the team wants to discover solutions.
After that, they attend virtual workshops to qualify the teams and their members to take on challenges using scientific methods.
The solutions submitted by the teams are then screened after the initial presentations are submitted, and then developed through the hackathon camp,
The participants are committed to the in-person workshops, and finally, the final offers are submitted to select the winners.
