The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the launch of the new REDEX shipping service by CMA CGM at Jeddah Islamic Port, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The integration of the new route at the port further strengthens the Kingdom’s maritime connectivity and boosts the regional and global competitiveness of its ports in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
The new REDEX shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with four regional and international ports, including Malta Freeport in Malta, Port Said Port and Port of Alexandria in Egypt, as well as Port of Aqaba in Jordan.
With a carrying capacity of up to 2,594 standard containers, the route solidifies Jeddah’s position as a central gateway in global maritime trade.
This initiative stands out as an integral part of Mawani’s broader efforts to elevate the Kingdom’s standing in global performance indices, streamline the flow of national exports, and advance the ambitious goals of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics.
Jeddah Islamic Port boasts 62 multi-purpose berths and a dedicated logistics zone for bonded storage and re-export, complemented by a direct truck transport system.
The port also features specialized terminals with advanced handling equipment, including two container terminals and marine service berths, with a total handling capacity of up to 130 million tons annually.
