The Saudi Supreme Court has urged Muslims across Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of Shawwal moon on Wednesday evening, Ramadan 29, 1447 AH, corresponding to March 18, 2026, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The court also called on anyone who sights the crescent, whether with the naked eye or through binoculars, to report the sighting to the nearest court and formally register their testimony.
They are also welcomed to contact the closest center for assistance in reaching the appropriate judicial authority.
The Supreme Court expressed hope that those who are able to sight the crescent moon will give the matter due attention and join the committees established across the regions for this purpose.
In this regard, the court encouraged participation with the awareness of the religious reward linked to this effort, stressing that it mirrors cooperation in righteousness and piety and serves the interests of all Muslims.
