Managing Burnout
In today’s dynamic and globalized world, burnout has emerged as a dominant issue. Many people believe that burnout to great extent is related to job exhaustion and negative feelings associated with low productivity. Others believe that it is associated with decreased job.
satisfaction and a reduced enthusiasm to the job. However, the increased pressure of our daily life responsibilities has created other forms of burnout which tends to deeply affect the mental health, psychological state of individuals and other aspects of life.
One of these types of burnout is mental burnout which affects mostly people who over think; it is associated with reduction in productivity. Mental exhaustion, inability to focus, constant dissatisfaction and frequent headache are all serious signs of mental burnout.
Physical burnout is another type of burnout which can be determined by frequent fatigue, the state of being incredibly tired regardless of hours of your sleep, increased diseases.
Another type of fatigue completely drains the energy is emotional burnout. It is associated with negative feelings and losing motivation towards any activity. In addition, the person who suffers from emotional burnout has a constant feeling of being a failure and self doubt.
Meanwhile, Social burnout is a term used to describe psychological response to stressful relations. It can occur for several reasons. However, poorly managed social relation can be the main reason for this pain. Social exhaustion is when you feel run down, tired, and exhausted by socializing. This kind of fatigue extends to the realm of social media as well; platforms like Facebook, Instgram and Tweeter can also contribute to feelings of social fatigue.
Despite not being in the same physical space, social media engagement can still leave us feeling socially drained. Many of us have developed unhelpful energy habits around our phones. We often reach for them during life’s pauses, poised to see what’s happening online. The dehumanizing space between us means our emotions (both positive and negative) have nowhere particularly productive or helpful to go.
Therefore , it is significant to raise the awareness of the people to protect themselves from this kind of harm and improve their wellbeing. If you are already feeling burned out, it is crucial to take action to address the problem. Identify the cause is the first step to recover from this problem so once you are more aware of the cause, you can take steps to get treatment. Factors that often play a role including negative people, overusing or misuse of social media need to be identified.
Managing this kind of burnout needs awareness of the problem and how to orient our efforts to control these negative feelings. If you’ve reached the point where you’ve developed a negative attitude about others and feel irritable and withdrawn, try to set aside some time for yourself. Staying alone and doing things you enjoy can be very helpful. Meanwhile you should not withdraw from loved ones like relatives or sincere friends. Because negative social interactions often play a significant role in causing burnout, but positive and supportive relations can be an essential against it.
Talking to your friends and family about what you are going through can help relieving the inner pain you are suffering from. Make sure that you are taking care of your wellbeing- eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly. Taking time for yourself, even when you have a lot of demands on your time, can also help you to recover from burnout. All these factors can create resilience and build individuals’ ability to cope with the outer world around him.
