King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) will welcome Dr. Chad A. Mirkin, director of the International Institute for Nanotechnology, to present a scientific lecture tomorrow, August 28, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Dr. Mirkin, winner of the 2023 King Faisal Prize (KFP) in Medicine and Science, will present the lecture at the KSAU-HS’s conference center and will be simultaneously broadcast via video to the university campuses in Jeddah and Al-Ahsa.
He secured KFP for his outstanding scientific contributions, including:
- Introducing the concept of nanoparticles as atoms and DNA as bonds to design functional crystalline macroscopic materials
- Enriching the repertoire of chemistry and material tools
- Defining the modern age of nanotechnology
Theses contributions greatly improved the ability of this technology to provide radical solutions in treating and exploring diseases.
Hosting such a significant lecture stands as a testament to the KSAU-HS‘s commitment to bring the most pioneering scientists and experts and holds various workshops and programs to elevate Saudi cadres and practitioners
