The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, stressed on Wednesday the importance of working under the umbrella of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to achieve unity of rank among its members.
King Salman’ statements came during a call he received from Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Through the phone call, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed the role of the Islamic Organization in achieving unity of Islamic countries , stressing the need for to reassure that any kind of co-operation between its members remain under (OIC) umbrella in a way that serves the interest of the nation.
The Malaysian Prime Minister’s call comes one day before a previously announced meeting between five Islamic countries hosting the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, these countries are Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Qatar, before Malaysian media publishes that the Indonesian president’s apologized for attending the summit. The Malaysian media added that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan also apologized for the attendance.
