King Salman Reserve Authority Secures IUCN Technological Innovation Certificate
The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve has earned the Technological Innovation Certificate from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), according to the Saudi Press Agency.
This certificate marks a regional milestone as the reserve becomes the first nature reserve in the Middle East and West Asia to receive this recognition.
The reserve earned this recognition through a strategic partnership with stc, working in coordination with Huawei’s Tech4Nature initiative, which introduced an AI-powered smart monitoring system supported by advanced communications technologies.

Through a network of smart cameras, this innovative system enables precise, real-time wildlife observation.
Therefore, this system offers continuous observations, analyzes data instantly, and tracks biodiversity around the clock.
It also features the immediate identification of wildlife and the continuous tracking of their movements in their natural habitats, advancing environmental research and delivering precise, data-driven insights into wildlife populations.
