Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz has issued a directive to name 15 squares in Riyadh after the imams and kings of the Saudi State, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The decision follows a proposal by the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin and coincides with Saudi Arabia’s celebration of Founding Day on February 22.
This directive stands as a testament to the Saudi leadership’s dedication to honoring the immense legacy of the imams and kings who played pivotal roles in establishing and unifying the Kingdom.
For more than 300 years, they have been protecting the Kingdom, ensuring its security, and preserving its resources.
Crucially, the 15 squares are basically located on Riyadh‘s main roads.
According to the decision, the squares will bear the names of: Imam Muhammad bin Saud, Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad, Imam Saud bin Abdulaziz, Imam Abdullah bin Saud, Imam Turki bin Abdullah, Imam Faisal bin Turki, Imam Abdullah bin Faisal, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal, King Abdulaziz, King Saud, King Faisal, King Khalid, King Fahd, King Abdullah, as well as King Salman.
