Jeddah’s KAIA Ranks 3rd Among World’s Top Mega Airports

King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah has achieved a new milestone, cementing its position among the world’s mega airports.

According to the Skytrax 2026 World Airport Awards, KAIA secured the third rank globally among airports serving between 50 and 60 million passengers annually, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The renowned Jeddah airport also ranked fifth in the “World’s Most Improved Airports” category and jumped to the 27th spot in the overall list of the world’s top 100 airports, advancing 17 positions compared to 2025 rankings.

Announced during the Passenger Terminal Expo in London, this accomplishment underscores the rapid progress achieved by the airport in enhancing service quality and passenger experience.

Furthermore, the achievement builds on the efforts of Jeddah Airports Company to boost passenger experience, enhance operational efficiency, and achieve its strategic objectives.

Securing the third rank among the world’s mega airports is one of the company’s primary strategic objectives for customer excellence in 2026.

On this occasion, the CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, Mazen bin Mohammed Johar, took pride in this achievement as a testament to the company’s commitment to enhancing service quality. He also noted that it is the fruit of collaborative efforts and a unified team spirit across the entire workforce of King Abdulaziz International Airport.

The new ranking is a strong indicator of the continuous improvement in performance metrics related to the passenger experience. Moreover, it bolsters the status of KAIA as a premier gateway to the Kingdom, particularly in serving Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Importantly, King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh was named the named the “World’s Most Improved Airport” and ranked 14th globally in the Skytrax 2026 World Airport Awards.
