Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, met with UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner on Thursday in Washington to discuss urgent development challenges, particularly in post-conflict regions. Both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative solutions and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-term IsDB–UNDP partnership, with a focus on innovation, resilience, and inclusive growth across member countries.
Dr. Al Jasser also held discussions with Dr. Ghiath Shabsigh, Secretary-General of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), to explore enhanced cooperation on Islamic finance standards, legal frameworks, and capacity-building. The meeting highlighted joint efforts to improve regulatory environments and support the development of a robust global Islamic financial system.
