The Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on Wednesday signed an agreement to activate a comprehensive program to support economic and social development, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Economy Ministry’s General Supervisor for International Organizations, Hattan bin Samman, and UNDP Resident Representative, Nahid Hussein, signed the agreement, in the presence of the Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Alibrahim, and UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner, in addition to several officials.
The agreement aims to enhance economic and social policy planning, highlight national efforts and achievements at the UN, and strengthen cooperation. Moreover, it aims to exchange expertise and knowledge in the field of sustainable development.
This collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic and social development, and achieving the Kingdom’s national aspirations under the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030. Thus, it contributes to developing national policies and building institutional competencies.
