INTERVIEW: Vision 2030 Has Unleashed Saudi Women’s Potential: Princess Noura Al Saud

As part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to unlock women’s potential and increase their participation across all sectors, the Kingdom hosted the Creative Women Forum in Riyadh, on October 7-8, 2024.

The Forum brought together elite of female entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and creative talent from Saudi Arabia and around the world to share innovative ideas and foster constructive dialogues that help Saudi women explore new perspectives to drive change across all fields.

Princess Noura Al Saud: A Visionary Entrepreneur

The Creative Women Forum was held under the patronage of Princess Noura bint Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, a visionary entrepreneur with over 10 years of experience in the creative and cultural sectors.

As a pioneering leader with a deep understanding of the intersection between creativity and business, Princess Noura founded Rukun Creative Exchange and Almashtal Creative Incubator to nurture and support emerging Saudi talent.

Her initiatives foster innovation, collaboration, and cultural expression, driving a vibrant creative community and inspiring a new wave of innovation.

During the events of the Creative Women Forum, Princess Noura Al Saud spoke to Leaders MENA Magazine, sharing her insights on the role of Saudi Vision 2030 in empowering women and the positive impact of forums and conferences on societies.

Unleashing Women’s Potential

Under the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi leadership has shown a strong determination to empower women, increase their participation in the national economy, and nurture their capabilities and skills.

To this end, Saudi Arabia has embarked on numerous initiatives and reforms to bridge the gender gap and promote women’s rights. This has led to a surge in women’s participation across various fields, showcasing unmatched talent and creativity.

On this matter, Princess Noura Al Saud emphasized the capabilities of Saudi women and their significant role in uplifting the Saudi society throughout the centuries.

“The skills, creativity and ambitions of Saudi women have always been evident throughout the years, and will continue into the future,” she said.

Princess Noura highlighted how Saudi Vision 2030 contributed to displaying women’s skills and potentials. She said: “The transformative Vision 2030 and our wise leadership have opened up new horizons to unleash these potentials and showcase them to the whole world.”

Saudi Leadership Support

The leadership of Saudi Arabia has prioritized women empowerment as a key pillar in Vision 2030’s economic diversification plans. As a result, the Saudi leadership has provided unwavering support to promote women’s rights and increase their participation across all fields.

With regards to this, Princess Noura Al Saud underscored the importance of having role models who encourage respect and solidarity among all members of society.

She said: “I have had female role models, as well as male role models including our wise leadership. When there is mutual respect and support among all members of society – men and women – we can achieve everything we aspire to.”

Princess Noura added that “solidarity among all members of society, as demonstrated by our leadership and their unwavering support, has encouraged us to be an integral part of this society.”

How Forums Unlock Women’s Potential

The Kingdom is paying great attention to organizing events, forums and conferences that contribute to improving the skills and capabilities of Saudis in general, and women in particular.

Speaking about the significant role of these forums in honing Saudi women’s skills, Princess Noura said: “Events and forums, such as Creative Women Forum, provide the opportunity to learn about inspiring stories, in addition to promoting interaction and solidarity among women.”

She further stressed their importance, adding: “I consider these forums a ‘moment of learning.’ We need to learn and improve throughout our lives, but learning is not limited to academic education. Forums and events provide an opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve our goals.”

Creative Women Forum

The Creative Women Forum is part of the Creative Women Platform, founded by Olga Balakleets in 2016 in the UK. The forum serves as a platform to connect women worldwide to share their experiences, success stories, innovation, and career development. It provides them the opportunity to meet innovators, influential business figures, thought leaders as well as decision-makers.

The Creative Women Forum aims to motivate and inspire women from all walks of life, by aiding them in leading, starting, and scaling their businesses. It also supports young female entrepreneurs to address challenges, by sharing creative and innovative ideas.

The Forum’s 2024 edition was held in Saudi Arabia to stress its status as a premier destination for tourism, business, and a powerful hub for technological advancement for men, women, and the younger generation.

The choice of Riyadh also aims to showcase the Kingdom’s rich culture, heritage, and traditions, fostering cultural exchange and supporting Saudi talent.
