India reports new case of Zika virus

The Press Trust of India reported on the detection of a new Zika virus infection in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh (Sunday).

The agency indicated that the patient is an officer in the Indian Air Force in Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh.

Blood samples were taken after he began to exhibit strange symptoms and submitted to the National Institute of Virology in Boni, in the southwestern part of the country.

After the case was made public, the National Institute of Virology examined samples from more than 20 people who had contact with the patient.
