This is the heart of the festival and its largest park. This year, it has been expanded to cover a massive 1.2 million square meters—a record in the festival’s history—with 400,000 cubic meters of ice and snow used to create sculptures and entire ice cities.

Held along the banks of the Songhua River, this exhibition features more than 260 snow sculptures this year.

Visitors can also take part in small ice-carving workshops or enjoy traditional performances such as dragon dances and folk shows held every evening.

The festival typically opens in late December and runs until late February or early March, depending on weather conditions. Peak season is from mid-January to early February, when the artworks are fully completed and the atmosphere is at its most spectacular.
