The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has laid the foundation stone for Hexagon Data Center, the world’s largest government data center.
Spanning an area of over 30 million square feet in Riyadh, the Hexagon Data Center is designed to Tier IV – the highest global standard for data centers – with a total capacity of 480 megawatts, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

With a design meeting the highest international standards, the Center aims to ensure the maximum levels of availability, security, and operational readiness for government data centers.
It also addresses the requirements of various entities and the increasing reliance on digital services, thereby contributing to the growth of the national economy and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a pivotal player in the future of the global digital economy.
On this occasion, SDAIA President, Abdullah Alghamdi, noted that this landmark national project aligns with the ongoing support of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for SDAIA’s efforts to establish Saudi Arabia among the leading data- and AI-driven economies.

Alghamdi said that Hexagon is the inaugural project under SDAIA’s data center strategy, marking a qualitative strategic leap toward transforming the Kingdom into a global data hub, ensuring data sovereignty and security, and fostering innovation and the digital economy.
