Hail Region Draws Over 3 Million Visitors in 1st Half of 2025

Hail’s strategic location, diverse landscapes, and favorable climate continue to generate strong economic and social benefits, fueling investment across tourism, agriculture, industry, and transportation.

Thanks to its rich natural and cultural heritage, the region recorded rapid tourism growth in 2025, attracting more than three million visitors in just the first six months.

Major drivers included festivals, events, and ongoing development at UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Jabal Umm Sinman in Jubbah and the rock carvings of Shuwaymis. Hail’s distinctive mountains and moderate climate also make it a prime destination for heritage tourism, hiking, and rural getaways.

To build on this momentum, the municipality has secured investment agreements totaling SAR 179 million, including projects for rural lodges and the Aja Hills development, which will offer hotel and resort facilities. The regional development authority has also signed partnerships to operate specialized tourist routes and expand international promotion of the region.

Hail remains a key agricultural hub, supported by fertile soil and abundant fresh water. The region is home to 15,000 farms spanning 240,000 hectares. It also benefits from a robust road network exceeding 5,900 kilometers, strengthening its position as a logistics center. Recent enhancements include 13 newly inaugurated road projects covering 358 kilometers, with a total value of SAR 47 million.

Environmental sustainability is another priority, with ongoing initiatives to preserve vegetation, protect wildlife, and safeguard natural resources. Together, these multi-sector efforts underscore Hail’s vitality and its growing role in supporting economic diversification under Vision 2030.
