Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia: Competitions Motivate Muslims to Memorize the Quran

Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and head of the Senior Scholars Council Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh said in a statement that the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran motivates Muslim youths around the world to memorize the holy book and contributes to creating a generation that adheres to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, and the principle of moderation.

Al Sheikh pointed out that caring for and preserving the Holy Quran has always been a main concern for the leaders of this country, ever since it was founded by the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud. He added that the Kingdom is keen to hold local and international Quran competitions and to allocate millions in prizes to encourage Muslims to participate and acquire religious knowledge.

Al Sheikh expressed gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his constant patronage of the King Abdulaziz International Competition.
