Global appreciation & Welcome for resumption of relations between Riyadh and Tehran
Peter Stano, the spokesman for the EU External Action Service in Brussels, said in a statement that the EU appreciates the resumption of diplomatic relations and efforts that have led to the stability of the region as a whole.
He added that promoting peace and stability and reducing tensions in the Middle East are among the main priorities of the EU.
Republic of Turkey
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey welcomed the agreement. She congratulated the two countries on this agreement, which contributes significantly to laying the foundations for security in the region.
Egypt
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed its aspiration for the agreement to contribute to easing tensions in the region, strengthen the pillars of stability, preserve the capabilities of Arab national security, and the aspirations of the peoples of the region for prosperity, development, and stability.
Iraq
In turn, the spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, confirmed that the agreement will create a new atmosphere in promoting the interests of the region.
He indicated – in a statement – that the Saudi-Iranian agreement comes as a culmination of the two sides’ vision of the priority of dialogue as a way to reduce tension, indicating that the agreement inaugurates a new phase of collective opportunities.
Kuwait
The Foreign Ministry affirmed Kuwait’s support for this agreement, expressing its hope that it will contribute to strengthening the pillars of security and stability in the region, building trust, and developing friendly relations between the two parties in the interest of the countries of the region and the world.
Palestine
The Palestinian Presidency also welcomed the agreement and expressed its appreciation for the positive Chinese role that contributed to reaching this agreement, expressing its hope that this agreement would lead to stability and enhance the positive climate in the region.
UN
The Secretary-General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, welcomed the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran to resume diplomatic relations between them.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric expressed the UN Secretary-General’s gratitude to China for hosting the recent talks, and the UN Secretary-General saluted the efforts of other countries in this regard, especially the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq.
The Muslim World League
The Muslim World League also welcomed the agreement. In a statement, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, expressed his hope that this agreement would benefit the two brotherly countries and peoples.
GCC
His Excellency the Secretary-General of the GCC, Jassem Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, welcomed the joint tripartite statement regarding the resumption of Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations.
