The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) marks ten years since its establishment in 2016, celebrating a decade of remarkable transformation that has redefined Saudi Arabia’s entertainment landscape into a more organized and vibrant industry.
Since its inception, the GEA has played a central role in regulating the sector, issuing licenses, empowering investors, and enhancing collaboration among stakeholders—all aimed at building a sustainable and thriving entertainment ecosystem.

A key pillar of its strategy has been investing in national talent, with specialized programs designed to equip Saudi professionals with the skills needed to lead and innovate within the sector.
Among its standout achievements is the launch of six editions of Riyadh Season since 2019. The event has grown into one of the world’s premier entertainment festivals and a globally recognized brand, with an estimated value of $3.2 billion—underscoring its rapid expansion and international appeal.
The Joy Awards has also emerged as a flagship annual event, attracting leading Arab and international stars while generating significant public and media attention.
In line with its expansion vision, Saudi Arabia introduced the entertainment destination “Beast Land” in collaboration with renowned content creator MrBeast, highlighting the Kingdom’s ambition to deliver innovative, world-class entertainment experiences.
Today, the GEA continues to move forward with a future-focused vision, building on a decade of progress through new initiatives and evolving projects that are shaping the next chapter of Saudi Arabia’s entertainment sector.
