For the first time, King Salman instructs to grant Saudi nationality to foreign competences

In a step that aims to attract distinguished and creative people from all over the world to live in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi newspaper of “Sabaq” reported on Wednesday the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued royal order to afford Saudi nationality to people from legal, medical, scientific, cultural, sports and technical competencies.

The step aims to promote development and achieve benefit to Saudi Arabia in various fields.

According to the Saudi newspaper of “Sabaq”, King Salman’s order included lifting of all nominated candidates for the granting of Saudi Arabian citizenship from all over the world, including also distinguished and creative people who meet the necessary required criteria.

This decision comes in accordance with the Royal Order issued nearly two months ago that stipulated serving public interest through attracting distinguished scholars, intellectuals, creators and specialists, and in line with Saudi Vision 2030 which aims to invest in human talents, attract the distinguished and creative people from around the world to live on the territory of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi newspaper of ‘Sabaq’ added that the royal order stipulated granting Saudi nationality to most outstanding and creative people in fields such as medical, pharmacy, mathematics, computer, technology, agriculture, nuclear energy, industry, oil , artificial intelligence, software engineering, robots, high-performance computers, nanotechnology, environment, geology, space science and aviation.

In addition to talented and creative people in fields of culture, sports, art, and other fields that contribute to support Saudi competencies as well as in areas that Saudi Arabia needs due to its geographical nature, such as scientists distinguished in desalination technology.
