EVIQ Unveils First DC Fast-Charging Station for EVs in Riyadh

Revolutionizing EV Charging

EVIQ has unveiled first DC Fast-Charging Station for EVs at Roshn Waterfront in Riyadh.

This project is considered a landmark in Saudi Arabia’s journey towards sustainable transportation.

Developed by Electromin, a subsidiary of the Petromin Corporation, this project is instrumental in building an extensive network of ultra-fast Direct Current (DC) charging stations across the Kingdom.

Revolutionizing EV Charging

The ultra-fast chargers are capable of adding approximately 150 kilometers of range to an electric vehicle in just 15 minutes. This innovation targets one of the main concerns of EV drivers – range anxiety – and is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles.

Nationwide Network Expansion

Electromin’s initiative encompasses the deployment of additional DC chargers at key locations nationwide, forming charging corridors between major cities. This expansion is an enhancement to their existing network of over 100 Alternating Current (AC) chargers installed in 2022.

Aligning with Saudi Vision 2030

This strategic move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2060. Additionally, with the goal of making 30% of Riyadh’s vehicles electric by 2030, this initiative is a significant step in reducing fossil fuel dependency and addressing climate change.

Moreover, it underscores the country’s dedication to sustainable development and environmental conservation.

Electromin’s Commitment to EV Ecosystem

Electromin is committed to growing Saudi Arabia’s EV ecosystem with a range of chargers. This includes AC, DC fast, and new ultra-fast types. Furthermore, their mobile app enhances user experience by offering features such as tracking locations and controlling sessions.

Additionally, this app represents a significant step in making EV use more convenient and accessible.

Electromin Mobile EV Recovery Service

Electromin has also introduced a novel service – the Electromin Mobile EV Recovery Service. Initially available in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

It supports EV drivers who have depleted their battery by providing on-the-spot charging to enable them to reach the nearest charging station.
