Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Sunday that he was postponing his planned visit to Abu Dhabi, according to AFP.
The message added that Erdogan would travel to the United Arab Emirates at a later date, yet to be determined.
Erdogan’s office posted on X that the Turkish President had spoken by phone with the Emirati leader Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
As part of a two-day diplomatic tour, Erdogan had been slated to visit the United Arab Emirates on February 16 and Ethiopia on February 17, Turkey Today reported.
Erdogan’s talks with Al Nahyan were set to focus on boosting Turkish-Emirati cooperation and reviewing regional and global developments.
