Egypt’s Prime Minister Arrives in Riyadh for WEF Special Meeting

Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and his accompanying delegation arrived Saturday in Riyadh to join the World Economic Forum (WEF) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport, Madbouly was received by Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji, Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farouk, and other senior officials.

The WEF Special Meeting, to be held on April 28 and 29, 2024, gathers over 1000 global leaders, including government officials, executives from the public and private sectors, international organizations, academic institutions, and non-government organizations (NGOs).

The meeting aims to discuss the most pressing issues and challenges related to global development and how to address them.

Through sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, the special meeting will promote constructive dialogues to enhance global cooperation and encourage collective international action to offer sustainable solutions amid the growing social and economic inequalities.

The choice of Riyadh to host the WEF Special Meeting is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s global standing and its role in enhancing international cooperation.

As a critical player at the intersection of the Global North and South, Saudi Arabia is in a strategic position to work with developed and developing markets to achieve their long-term goals, in regards to international commerce, development finance and energy.
