Egypt and Saudi Arabia: Wings of the Arab, Islamic nations

By: Abd al-Rahman al-Murshid

No two people disagree that Saudi Arabia and Egypt are the backbone of the Arab world, and their cohesion strengthens the Arab entity from the foreign interventions that afflict us, especially from Iran and Turkey, both of which seek to dismantle our Arab world and plunder its goods.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt have a long history of relations, and the positions between the two brotherly countries are characterized by identical visions and agreement on regional issues in all aspects and in the deep, strong, historical and strategic relations they form.

This relationship is not flawed, and its strength and solidity will increase in the future at its best with the support of the leaderships of the two countries under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

I will limit my talk to Egypt and the important achievements it has achieved at all levels despite the bitterness of the experience it went through after the resignation of former President Hosni Mubarak, and how after that I managed to achieve a miracle thanks to God first, then the patience and steadfastness of its people and the wisdom of its inspiring leader Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

Egypt suffered from terrorism during the era of the current president – and we all know that terrorism is the biggest obstacle to development. Despite that, Egypt did not give up, but was able to defeat and eliminate it.

In another direction, development and modernization projects have not stopped, from reclamation and cultivation of vast areas, as well as establishing a new administrative capital, building bridges and roads, developing factories and slums, and digging, splitting and opening the Suez Canal in one year at a cost of 64 billion pounds, which confirms that there is governmental and popular insistence on reaching high development that brings more prosperity to the Egyptian people.

Achieving these accomplishments under these circumstances is not an easy task, but with persistence, perseverance and patience, miracles are achieved and transformed into facts recorded by history with a supply of gold. History is unforgettable. This is a bright era in the history of Egypt.

The sectors of education, tourism and agriculture are considered a bright front for this country – not only at the Arab level, but also at the international level – as it crossed the skies, flew high and turned into the focus of everyone’s attention as a result of proper planning, continuous follow-up, and overcoming obstacles with patience and steadfastness.

Development projects under President Sisi took into account inclusiveness of all regions and governorates to apply the principle of balanced development among all cities, and it is a precedent for the current president, who was keen on the prosperity of all regions so that the residents of medium and small cities prevail. Development was not limited to major cities only, which confirms looking to the future with the eye of a leader who gropes for the needs of people in every inch of Arab Egyptian soil.

All of these achievements have borne fruit in reducing unemployment rates and providing job opportunities for citizens, and they will achieve more with the improvement of the global economic situation that is creaking under the weight of the corona pandemic, which confirms that Egypt is taking steady steps toward bearing a bright future that broadcasts its rays to all Arab countries without exception.
