Kylian Mbappe has joined Real Madrid on a five-year contract worth £12.8million per season, reported the LaLiga club.
‘Real Madrid C. F. and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement; he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,’ the Spanish champions said in a statement.
The French star announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain on May 10, ending a transfer saga that continued for years.
Mbappe, 25, will join the newly-crowned European champions next month after spending seven years and scoring 256 goals in 308 matches in Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappe shared images of himself as a youngster in a Real Madrid matches.
Furthermore, he shared a photo alongside Cristiano Ronaldo onto his social media profiles shortly after the club statement.
“A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream @realmadrid.” he wrote. “Nobody can understand how excited I am right now.”
Paris-born Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco in 2017 and brought 5 trophies. His highest scoring season with PSG was 44, and he obtained the top scorer of the French league for the sixth consecutive season (27).
Just two days ago, Madrid won the15th European Cup title when after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Champions League final in London. Mbappe will be playing in Real Madrid together with other prominent stars such as Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham.
