Diriyah Art Biennale 2026 to Highlight Contemporary Transformations

The Diriyah Biennale Foundation has unveiled the lineup of artists set to participate in the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2026, which will kick off on January 30 in Diriyah’s Jax District, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Titled “In Interludes and Transitions,” the upcoming edition will highlight various themes including movement, migration, and transformation.

These themes are the major drivers that have historically shaped pathways of communication and cultural exchange between the Arab region and other countries around the world.

The 2026 Biennale will bring together more than 65 artists from 37 countries, showcasing 22 new works created by artists, musicians, filmmakers, architects, and writers.

These pieces tackle concepts of continuity, resilience, and collective imagination amid periods of profound change.

The artistic directors also announced that the 2026 edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale stands as a testament to the significance and pivotal role of art in interpreting contemporary transformations.

Meanwhile, Diriyah Biennale Foundation Chief Executive Officer Aya Al-Bakree said the event unites artists from different generations, geographies, and creative disciplines.

Therefore, it offers audiences a vibrant and divers artistic experience that depicts Diriyah’s growing role as a prestigious global hub for culture and contemporary art.
