Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets Bangladeshi Foreign Minister
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji met today with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Bangladesh Muhammad Hasan, on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Minister reviewed the ties of cooperation between the two countries and discussed ways to enhance and develop these ties in various fields.
Additionally, they discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts exerted in this regard, reported Saudi Press Agency.
Saudi-Bangladeshi Relations
In a recent significant development in international trade relations, Mubasher Al-Shahri, the Saudi Commercial Attaché at the Foreign Trade Authority embassy in Pakistan, has played a pivotal role in fostering Saudi- Bangladeshi business relations.
This engagement was particularly notable during the visit of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih, to Bangladesh.
Role of General Authority for Foreign Trade
Established on January 1, 2019, Kingdom’s General Authority for Foreign Trade is key in Saudi-Bangladeshi economic ties. It also boosts the country’s global commercial and investment activities.
Moreover, it aids private sector participation in foreign trade. This reflects Saudi Arabia’s drive to diversify its economy, moving beyond oil and expanding its global trade presence.
