Commerce Minister Engages in Trade Talks with UK Officials to Enhance Economic Ties

Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Competitiveness Center, Majid Al-Kassabi, held a meeting with a British delegation led by Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, Minister of State for Investment Jason Stockwood, and British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Stephen Hitchen, along with other senior British officials.

The discussions focused on strengthening trade and economic relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, particularly in priority and emerging sectors. Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in financial services, financial technology (Fintech), e-commerce, innovation, advanced manufacturing, supply chains, competitiveness, and exports.

The meeting also reviewed progress on joint initiatives under the Economic and Social Committee of the Saudi-UK Strategic Partnership Council, reaffirming the two nations’ shared commitment to deepening investment and trade cooperation.

The talks were held on the sidelines of the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), which opened today at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh under the theme “The Key to Prosperity: Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth.”
