Chinese Company to Establish Marine Park in KSA
The leadership of the Kingdom pays great attention to the tourism sector as one of the most important sources of non-oil economy. It spares no effort in providing generous support to enhance the sector. It aims to make KSA a global tourist destination that attracts visitors through enchanting nature and massive entertainment projects. The global press coverage of tourism developments and projects highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment. The latest of these projects includes a marine park in KSA, reported Saudi Press Agency.
In this context, the prestigious South China Morning Post newspaper shed light on an agreement made last April by the Tourism Development Fund with China’s Haichang Ocean Park. This agreement focuses on developing water parks, zoos, and safari parks in various Saudi cities, and financing a new marine park as part of the Kingdom’s campaign to boost tourism.
The company, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, operates six of the largest marine parks in mainland China. Under the agreement, the company has become the first marine park brand in Saudi Arabia.
CEO’s Remarks
CEO Zhu Najie stated that the collaboration with the Kingdom opens doors to global expansion and the company’s internationalization.
Furthermore, Najie noted that the partnership would integrate beneficial resources for both parties. Moreover, it will aid the company in establishing an international brand and building a global entertainment platform focused on marine culture. The Fund will identify potential sites for the project. It aims to attract 100 million visitors by 2030 and enhance the tourism sector’s contribution to the economy by 10%.
According to the Chinese newspaper, the project also aims to develop a comprehensive world-class marine park resort. It will be the first of its kind in the Kingdom. It is expected to become a complete tourist, entertainment destination and a platform for promoting ocean conservation.
