Chairman of the Supreme Equestrian Authority, Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal, reported that Saudi horse races are being followed more internationally than ever, adding that the first edition of the Saudi Cup surpassed expectations.
He clarified the future plans for sports in Saudi Arabia, and emphasized work on creating a better environment for horses.
Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal revealed, “The purpose of the Supreme Equestrian Authority is to coordinate between the various bodies concerned with equestrian sport, and the authority is an umbrella for this sport.
He added, “We seek to provide a medium and long-term program, and we are working to coordinate various activities to avoid conflict, develop local, regional and international championships,we pay attention to these sports and turn them into an industry, create a favorable environment for horses and set legislation and laws to protect them.”
Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal praised the first edition of the Saudi Cup after the participation of the best international horses and attracting international coverage that exceeded expectations.
