“Art of the Kingdom”: First Travelling Exhibition for Contemporary Art to Kick off on Feb. 25

The Saudi Museums Commission announced that the Museum of Contemporary Art will host “Art of the Kingdom: Poetic Illuminations” Exhibition on Feb. 25, according to Saudi Press Agency.

Set to take place at Jax District (SAMoCA@Jax), the event represents the first travelling exhibition for Saudi Contemporary Art.

Interestingly, the long-awaited event will feature the artworks of 17 well-known Saudi artists from different generations and regions across the Kingdom.

Therefore, it will boast various paintings, installations, sculpture works as well as video artworks. Such works deeply reflect the Kingdom’s history and cultural heritage and traditions.

Crucially, the exhibition has launched its debut at the historic Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in November 2024, capturing the attention of 26,000 visitors.

Consequently, the event will have a third journey at the National Museum in China after the Riyadh tour.

At the Riyadh edition, visitors will have an exclusive opportunity to explore the artworks of prominent and high-profile artists such as Muhannad Shono, Lina Gazzaz, Manal AlDowayan, Ayman Zedani, Moath Alofi, Ahmed Mater, Ahaad Alamoudi, Shadia Alem, as well as Faisal Samra.

Furthermore, it will highlight various artworks by Ayman Yossri Daydban, Daniah Al Saleh, Filwa Nazer, Sarah Brahim, Ahmad Angawi, Nasser Al Salem, Basmah Felemban, and Fatma Abdulhadi.

Art of the Kingdom Exhibition stands as a testament to the Museums Commission’s dedication to supporting Saudi artists and promoting their artworks on both regional and international levels.
