The Arab Parliament condemned the terrorist attack with two booby-trapped cars in the city of Mahas, Hiran region, central Somalia, which resulted in some victims and injuries.

 

In a statement, the Arab Parliament affirmed its full solidarity and standing with Somalia in confronting all terrorist acts that threaten its security and stability. It called for the need for the international community to come together to eradicate terrorism from its roots. Permanent rejection of violence and terrorism follows the condemnation of these criminal acts.

 

The Arab Parliament expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government, people, and parliament of Somalia, and to the families of the victims. It wishes a speedy recovery for the injured.

 

The death toll from a double car bombing that occurred earlier Wednesday in the Mahas region of Hiraan region, central Somalia, rose to 20, along with some injured.

 

According to the local “Garowe” website, “at least 20 people were killed this morning in two explosions in the Mahas area in Hiran province.”

 

The site added that the two explosions “destroyed several buildings in the area, and it is believed that there are victims from one family.”
