Arab Ministers Meet to Discuss Ceasefire in Gaza
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, KSA Foreign Minister held a consultative meeting to discuss ceasefire in Gaza on Thursday, in Riyadh.
His Excellency, KSA Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, Foreign Minister, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister UAE, and Egypt foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry were present at the meeting.
Ceasefire in Gaza
The Arab ministers affirmed the need to end the war on the Gaza Strip, reach an immediate and complete ceasefire, as well ensuring the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law. In addition, they urged the lifting of all restrictions that hinder the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
They also stressed the importance of taking irreversible steps to implement the two-state solution and recognize the State of Palestine on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Furthermore, they expressed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and urged all its supporters to play their role in supporting Palestinian refugees.
Gaza War
The recent Gaza war has once again brought the long-standing conflict between Israel and Hamas into the global spotlight. The conflict, which has been ongoing for decades, has resulted in devastating consequences for the people living in the Gaza Strip.
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has once again highlighted the urgent need for a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
So, the international community must continue to support efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict, and to work towards the establishment of a viable and independent Palestinian state alongside a secured Israel.
