Fatima Al-Nimr, a Saudi artist, created a silk carpet in the shape of a Saudi Woman to express her sentiments about the day of the founding.
The carpet was transformed into an artistic mural, and she displayed this work under the name “Bint Al Raya,” highlighting the achievements of the woman and her part in the establishment of the Kingdom.
Al-Nimr informed Al-Arabiya.net that she chose figures from women’s history, and that she had been looking for 6 years for women’s personalities who had played a role in the establishment of the country.
She stated that the character shown in the piece is “Sultana,” a teacher from the Qatif region, and that she attempted to showcase the clothing of the people of the East through her artwork.
She stated that the Saudi woman is unique, has origins, and is noble.
The founding day seals were also embedded in the carpet, suggesting that Saudi ladies are happy to be citizens of this country.
