Al-Mashaer Train Operates 2,000 Trips to Serve Pilgrims

Al-Mashaer Train contributes to organizing the transportation of pilgrims between the holy sites, as it operates more than 2,000 trips to facilitate their movement, reported Al Arabiya.

The train enriches their experience and helps them perform religious rituals easily and smoothly.

The train consists of 9 stations distributed among the holy sites, connected by a double railway line that stretched over 18 kilometers, and the train’s capacity is 72 thousand passengers per hour.

The speed of the train is 80 kilometers per hour, so it can cover the distance between Mina and Arafat in approximately twenty minutes. Al-Mashaer fleet consists of 17 trains. The capacity of each train is three thousand passengers and it contributes to transporting more than 350,000 pilgrims.

Haramain High Speed Railway

The Saudi Railways “SAR” announced the readiness of the Haramain High Speed Railway to receive Hajj guests. It revealed its operational plan for this Hajj season through its five stations: Mecca, Medina, Jeddah’s main station (Sulaymaniyah), King Abdulaziz International Airport station in Jeddah, and King Abdullah Economic City Station. The railway spans 453 kilometers.

The announced plan includes an increase of about 100,000 seats for pilgrims to the Holy House of God compared to last year, making a total of 1.6 million seats.

Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has prepared more than 27 thousand buses to serve the pilgrims during Hajj season, reported Al Arabiya.

3,500 buses of the 27,000 have been allocated for transporting pilgrims to and from Masjid Al-Haram (The Holy Mosque) through more than 16 routes and more than 11 stops and stations, according to the authority.

355 buses have been allocated for public transportation in Mecca, as well as more than 27 buses in Al-Madinah to provide and efficient transportation service that meets the needs of the pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season.
