Al Ahly Brings Home Egyptian Super Cup for 14th Time

Al Ahly was crowned champion of the Egyptian Super Cup in football for the fourteenth time in its history, and the fifth time in Abu Dhabi, following their victory over Modern Future 4-2 today. The final match took place at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE capital.

Al Ahly’s Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba scored a goal at the 13th minute, Hussein El Shahat at the 34th, Anthony Modeste at the 114th, and Karim Fouad at the 116th minute. Modern Future’s Omar El Said scored a goal at the 76th minute and Mohamed Mahmoud at the 81st.

The match referee resorted to extra time after the end of the regular time with a 2-2 draw.

Abu Dhabi hosted the current edition of the Egyptian Super Cup. Four teams participated, namely Al Ahly, Pyramids, Ceramica Cleopatra, and Modern Future. Previously, it took place six times with only two participating teams.

Al Ahly’s History of Victory

 

Al Ahly had previously won the Egyptian Super Cup in Abu Dhabi in the years 2015, 2017, 2021, and 2022, against Zamalek, El Masry Port Said, and Pyramids, respectively, in addition to the current edition.

On the other hand, Pyramids FC secured third place in the tournament by defeating Ceramica Cleopatra 5-4 in a penalty shootout today, Thursday, after the regular time ended in a 1-1 draw.
