Saudi Deputy FM, SAF’s Al-Burhan Discuss Peace Efforts in Sudan

The Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Wednesday welcomed the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister, Waleed Al-Khuraiji, and his accompanying delegation in Port Sudan, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Al-Khuraiji conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, to Al-Burhan, extending their wishes for the security and stability of Sudan and its people.

During their meeting, they discussed the ongoing peace efforts to achieve security and stability in Sudan and preserve the country’s unity and legitimate institutions. They also discussed the latest developments in Sudan and efforts made towards addressing them.

In light of this, the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to restoring security and stability in Sudan, and safeguarding its territorial integrity, in a manner that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

For his part, Al-Burhan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their concern and commitment to ensuring sustainable peace and stability in Sudan, highlighting the historical and fraternal ties connecting the Saudi and Sudanese peoples.

Moreover, he expressed appreciation to the efforts of the US President, Donald Trump, to bring the war to an end and establish peace in Sudan, reported Sudan News Agency (SUNA).

In their meeting, the two officials discussed the peace initiative sponsored by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Trump, which aims to resolve the Sudanese crisis and bring peace to the country, in addition to other regional developments.

They also discussed the ongoing preparations for the convening of the Saudi-Sudanese Strategic Coordination Council, an initiative supported by the leadership of the two countries.
