Weather Alert: Saudi Arabia Forecasts Heavy Rainfall from Friday to Tuesday

Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert forecasting heavy rainfall expected to sweep across much of the Kingdom from Friday until Tuesday, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The center called on residents to exercise caution as this turbulent weather is anticipated to bring heavy rain, thunderstorms, and possible flash floods across multiple regions.

The latest forecasts noted that the weather system is likely to sweep large parts of the Kingdom, including Mecca, Jeddah, Medina, Tabuk, Al Jouf, the Northern Borders region, Hail, Al Qassim, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Al Baha, Asir and Jazan.

Therefore, the authorities urged the public to follow official updates, void crossing flood-prone valleys, and drive with caution during periods of heavy rain and low visibility.

Meanwhile, they advised those who live in coastal and mountainous areas to abide by safety guidance outlined by civil defense authorities.

The NCM explained that the multi-day weather system will vary in intensity across regions. However, some areas may experience torrential rainfall that could lead to water accumulation and temporary disruptions.

Authorities affirmed that all relevant departments remain on high alert and ready to efficiently respond to any emergencies, urging residents to ensure safety and follow official instructions.
