The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced that Riyadh will host the fourth international ministerial meeting on January 14. This event, part of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF), will feature unprecedented global participation, with ministers from 85 countries, including 16 G20 nations, attending. Over 50 ministers and 13 deputy ministers will join the discussions, making it a landmark event for the mining sector.
Global Collaboration for Sustainable Mining
The meeting will bring together more than 50 international organizations, trade unions, and industry leaders to address critical mining issues. Attendees will explore ways to meet the growing demand for strategic minerals, enhance value-added processing, and promote sustainability in supply chains. The discussions will also focus on leveraging renewable energy and modern technologies to produce green minerals, ensuring a sustainable future for the industry.
The agenda includes reviewing progress on three major initiatives from previous meetings: developing a strategic framework for critical minerals, increasing value-added processing, and ensuring transparency in supply chains. Additionally, the meeting will highlight the establishment of centers of excellence in major mining regions to boost investment, build capabilities, and develop human resources. These efforts aim to create new opportunities for mineral-producing and processing countries.
Saudi Arabia’s Leadership in Mineral Development
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef will deliver the opening speech, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainable mineral development. He will emphasize the Kingdom’s leadership role in advancing the sector and fostering global cooperation to address challenges. Alkhorayef will also discuss the vast potential of the mineral sector and opportunities for international collaboration to unlock its benefits.
The event will feature prominent ministers from around the world, including Italy’s Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the UK’s Jonathan Reynolds, and Brazil’s Alexandre Silveira. Other attendees include India’s G. Kishan Reddy, South Africa’s Parks Tau, and Morocco’s Leila Benali. Their participation highlights the global importance of the meeting and the shared commitment to advancing the mining industry.

Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer emphasized the meeting’s role in achieving sustainable development in the mining sector.
