Saudi Passports Directorate Launches 4 New Services at Absher Forum 2024

The Saudi Ministry of Interior on Wednesday hosted the 10th annual Absher Forum for Digital Transformation in Riyadh.

During the Forum, the Saudi General Directorate of Passports introduced 4 new online services through the Absher Platform.

The Forum showcased the achievements of the Interior Ministry, Regions’ governments and security sectors in digital transformation, highlighting their efforts in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 through providing innovative online services and supporting digital transformation.

It highlighted the role of technology in improving the quality of life and fostering integration between government and private sectors. Furthermore, the Forum introduced new digital services.

New Services

On this occasion, the Spokesperson of the General Directorate of Passports, Major Nasser Al-Otaibi, offered deep insights into the Absher Forum 2024 and the new services introduced. “The 10th edition of Absher Forum 2024 promotes digital transactions and the automation of services,” he said.

Major Al-Otaibi highlighted the new services that have become available through Absher Platform.

He said: “The forum has witnessed the launch of new services across all sectors at the Ministry of Interior. This included the General Directorate of Passports, which saw the inauguration of 4 new online services through the Absher Platform.”

“The new services include Saudi passport issuance for minors; Saudi passport renewal for minors; modifying the translated name for domestic workers; and modifying the translated name of the resident’s family members,” Maj. Al-Otaibi explained.

Absher Efforts

He also praised Absher Platform, pointing to its efforts to provide high-quality services for beneficiaries. “This is what we expect from Absher Forum, as it always brings the latest in digital realm and urges security sectors to adopt the latest technologies that enhance the experience of the beneficiaries,” he noted.

“Through this Forum, the General Directorate of Passports has made a remarkable milestone towards the automation of all its services. Moreover, it received 4 awards for online services and AI provided for beneficiaries,” Maj. Al-Otaibi added.
