Over 7.7M Electronic Transactions on Absher in July 2024
The Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform, Absher, carried out more than 7.7 million electronic transactions for citizens, residents, and visitors through Absher Individuals and Absher Businesses in July.
Through the Absher Individuals platform, over 5.25 million transactions were completed. The Department of Civil Affairs conducted 117,487 identity checks, 56,290 electronic ID renewals, 41,491 family member definitions, 34,914 transactions in the “My Data” service, 16,854 in the enhanced “My Data” service, 10,895 reissues of lost ID cards, 6,864 family record issuances, and 3,782 reissues of damaged ID cards.
At the General Directorate of Passports, 344,788 exit and return visas were issued, 263,148 residence permits were issued and renewed, 227,876 electronic Saudi passports were issued and renewed, 59,842 processes were conducted for issuing and renewing passports valid for less than 10 years, 28,208 exit and return visa extensions were processed, 11,084 service transfer transactions were completed, 9,730 final exit visa cancellations were processed, 4,619 final exit visa issuance processes were carried out during the trial period, and 1,656 authorizations for receiving incoming workers were issued.
In public security services, the platform completed 126,768 transactions for vehicle license renewal, 102,439 transactions for vehicle repair permits, 80,861 renewals for driver’s licenses, 71,854 requests for driving authorization, 62,471 transactions for plate replacement, 25,903 transactions for vehicle sales, 9,956 transactions for the disposal of abandoned or damaged vehicles, 6,659 transactions for vehicle insurance validity, and 5,319 transactions for firearm services.
Furthermore, the platform completed 181,840 document delivery requests by mail in July, issued 88,531 reports through the Absher Reports service, and handled 3,642 general fingerprint inquiries.
On Absher Business platform, more than 2,516,000 transactions were completed, including:

- 13,783 visitor driving authorizations
- 7,853 resident report requests
- 7,453 passport information updates
- 7,450 final exit visa cancellations
- 4,257 driving license information inquiries
- 3,866 profession modifications
- 3,493 vehicle information inquiries
- 3,256 air weapons transactions
- 2,940 exit and re-entry visa cancellations
- 1,360 permits for issuing rock-cutting permits
It is noted that the Absher platform is the electronic platform of the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, it aims to provide digital and integrated services for Saudi citizens, residents, and visitors by leveraging technological capabilities and modern technologies. Moreover, this ensures a distinguished user experience through automated services with high reliability, security, and efficiency.
Since its launch in 2010, the platform has made significant strides through the services it offers, competing with digital government platforms worldwide and becoming one of the leading platforms in the Middle East. The platform’s services have expanded from Ministry of Interior sectors such as passports, traffic, and civil status to include new automated services benefiting various government entities and the private sector.
