
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with a delegation of senior representatives from member institutions of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG), as well as Arab finance ministers attending the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group in Baku.
During the meeting, Aliyev highlighted the strong cooperation between Azerbaijan and ACG member institutions, noting that the partnership is supporting the implementation of several development projects across the country.
IsDB Group Chairman Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser thanked the Azerbaijani leadership for its hospitality and expressed the delegation’s appreciation for the country’s efforts to strengthen ties with the ACG.
The discussions focused on opportunities to expand cooperation and advance joint development initiatives.
Following the talks, the parties signed a loan agreement for the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in Sumgait. They also concluded a memorandum of understanding aimed at broadening cooperation in water supply and sanitation infrastructure for 33 residential settlements on the Absheron Peninsula.
